My Story

Built From
the Position Up

My soccer journey began at four years old on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I started as a striker — by age eight, I put on goalkeeper gloves and never looked back.

What followed was a path most goalkeepers never get: youth development through rec leagues, a competitive jump to club soccer, and a home at Shore FC National League under GR Cannon — former assistant coach at Loudoun United FC in the USL Championship.

I played and trained in England at 15 and Brazil at 18, gaining exposure to completely different coaching philosophies. After college, I trialed with Loudoun United FC, a USL Championship club.

There were stretches where I didn't have consistent goalkeeper coaching. I know what that gap feels like — and what it feels like when you finally get proper GK-specific guidance. That difference is exactly why Shot Stoppers FC exists.

Goalkeeper since age eight, with a playing path through Shore FC National League, England and Brazil, NCAA Division II soccer at Goldey-Beacom and Post University, and a trial with Loudoun United FC (USL Championship).

Founded Shot Stoppers FC to close the gap he experienced firsthand — stretches with no consistent, GK-specific coaching. Now leads private and group goalkeeper training across Johns Creek, GA, including the program's partnership with Mount Pisgah Christian School.

Every Shot Stoppers session is coached by Robert personally — one coach, one standard. That's why the schedule is set and weekly slots are limited.

No experience required. Private Starter and Private 1x are great starting points for goalkeepers at the beginning of their journey.
Every session is held at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, Monday–Thursday between 5:30 and 8:30 PM. Sessions start at 5:30, 6:30, or 7:30. The exact field is shared via text once your weekly slot is confirmed.
Sessions that absolutely need to be at a different location or outside Monday–Thursday carry a $30 upcharge per session and depend on availability. Shot Stoppers runs on one coach, so the Mount Pisgah schedule comes first for every family.
For meaningful development, 1–2 private sessions per week in addition to team training is the standard for competitive club goalkeepers. Private 1x and Private 2x are built for exactly that.
